1. Contact the kennels and agree an arrival date.
2. There are up to 4 forms which you will be required to complete, depending on the number of pets you have and whether your pet will be arriving from inside or outside the EU:
a) Application for import licence (Form ID1). (Up to 3 pets on each form)
ALL the forms should be sent to the kennels. (Not the Ministry as it can take longer to obtain your import licence) The required deposit should also be sent at this time.
Forms a) b) and c) may be faxed or posted to the kennels. The customs form must be posted to the kennels, as customs do not accept faxed copies.
3. We shall forward your licence application to the Ministry together with our confirmation of booking. The Ministry will then send your licence to you together with a red label which must be attached to the travelling box.
4. When you have received your import licence, (actually called the boarding document) you may book the flight with the airline. Most airlines only accept bookings within 2 weeks of the departure date. You will also be required by the airline to produce a health certificate for your pet to prove its fitness to travel.
